DIVE REPORT FOR
08/01/11
We have had some very rainy weather for scuba diving on the Gold and Tweed Coasts over the last month or more , summer is here just not the sunny days we expect, the visability at Cook Is over the last week has been fantastic
The visibilty has improved considerably at Cook Is in the New Year with 25 meters at Cook Island and on saturday with rainy overcast conditions the viz was 15 mt one north wall and 20 out on the caves . The temperature of the water has been very warm with a balmy 25 degrees!
Octopus have been seen out in force at Cook Island, and in pairs as this must be their mating season. There was also a school of over 20 or so eagle rays spotted on the north wall and a solitary manta ray .
A few harmless leopard sharks have been on the north wall , also some small bull rays and lots of turtles, for those that dived on saturday all had a great dive in bath type water , 3mm wetsuits were warm enough with one diver only wearing board shorts and a thin top,
The rest of the week at least till thursday is not looking good with poor forecast and the swell up, the weekend forecast is looking better
Happy Diving!!
